Which Skincare Products are Most Important to Use

Throughout the years the cosmetic and beauty industry has produced thousands of various skin-care products and with them have come various ideals as to what products are necessary and how many products a woman or man should truly be using.  Is it really necessary to use 10 products a day?  Probably not.  After running a medical spa-Winter Park Laser & Anti-Aging Center in Orlando for 10 years we have found what skincare products are most important for our clients to maintain their cosmetic procedure results.
Here are the Top Important Skincare Products Necessary for good skin:
#1 Daily Cleanser: It is important to use a soap free cleanser that is not going to absorb too much oil.  It is important to cleanse your skin twice a day, if you only have time for once a day make it at night as this is when your skin has the most build up, dirt and oil. Winter Park Laser Favorite Cleansers: Glytone Mild Gel Wash, and Skinmedica Facial Cleanser.
#2 Weekly Exfoliator: This is one product everyone should invest in and use once a week.  It is important to exfoliate the skin to remove dead skin cells, stimulate collagen and prevent pores being clogged with impurities which create breakouts.
Winter Park Laser Favorite Exfoliators: Skinmedica Skin Polisher, and Glytone Boost Mask
#3 Daily Retinol: Any woman or man over the age of 30 should own a good Rx grade Retinol. Retinol is vitamin A derivatives that unclog pores, boost collagen to reduce fine lines, and speed cell turnover to even out discoloration and smooth the skin—sometimes in as little as four weeks.
Winter Park Laser Favorite Retinols: Skinmedica Retinols .25, .50, & 1.0
#4 Daily Moisturizer with SPF 20 or Stronger: It is important to hydrate your skin daily even if you have oily skin.  If you don't hydrate your skin it can over-produce oil or become dry, cracked and show more wrinkles.  It is also extremely important to wear an SPF minimum 20 everyday even when you aren't in "direct sun" as you still get sun while driving, walking to the car, etc.
Winter Park Laser Favorite Moisturizers: Skinmedica Ultra Sheer for Oily Skin, and Skinmedica TNS Daily Moisturizer with SPF 20 for normal skin.
#5 Daily Eye Cream: The skin around your eyes is 30% thinner and therefore is the first area to form wrinkles and needs additional hydration that regular facial moisturizers can not provide.  It is important to find a physician grade eye cream that is hydrating, and has special ingredients to counteract wrinkles and dark circles.
Winter Park Laser Favorite Eye Cream: Skinmedica TNS Eye Repair
#6 Daily Growth Factor: As you age you lose 20% of collagen every year with your skin only naturally replacing 4% so it is important to have a growth factor serum that will rebuild collagen and elastyn in the skin.
Winter Park Laser Favorite Growth Factor: Skinmedica TNS Essential Serum, and Skinmedica TNS Recovery Complex.

Top 3 Fall Skin-Care Tips

Just as you change your wardrobe for Fall you have to adjust your skin-care routine as well. Every season brings changes to your skin and therefore you need to reassess the products and cosmetic treatments that you are using and think about switching them up each season. As Skin-Care experts at our Orlando medical spa Winter Park Laser&Anti-Aging Center we like to keep our clients up to date by educating them on the proper skin-care routine for each season based on their skin needs. Here are our top 3 Fall Skin-Care Tips Fall SKIN-CARE TIPS: TIP #1: Reassess your body wash. You'll want to find a shower gel that is soap-free as well as hydrating, try a cream not a gel wash. We like Avene Trixera wash. You also want to make sure that you are using a lotion everyday. Even if you drink a lot of water your skin needs outside hydration as well. Look for a body moisturizer with shea butter\r\n for extra hydration. TIP #2: Switch your Moisturizer. If you have been using a light weight moisturizer in the summer you might want to switch to a thicker creamier moisturizer or add a night time moisturizer. We like SkinMedica Dermal Repair cream for night-it has shea butter and vitamin A for extra hydration & silky skin. Your daytime moisturizers should still have an SPF because even when you are driving or it is cold you are getting sun exposure. It is important to moisturize everyday even if you have acne. We like Skinmedica Ultra Sheer Moisturizer as it doesn't clog your pores and feels great. TIP #3: Analyze your skin. Those who are normally oily might become normal, and those who are normally normal could turn oily. Find a skin-care expert such as an Aesthetician, medical spa or Dermatologist to help get you on the correct medical grade products for your skin.

Top 3 Cosmetic Treatments for Men

Over the past decade the cosmetic treatments requested & performed on men have increased by 56% as women are no longer the only ones reaping the benefits of non-invasive cosmetic procedures. At our Orlando medical spa-Winter Park Laser, we have seen an increase of at least 20% each year for the past few years. While, men are partaking in all cosmetic & plastic surgery ventures, there are 3 that we see the most often & which have increased by the highest percents in the past few years and they include the following. #1 Brotox: Botox for men has increased by 10% every year in the fast couple of years. This is only natural seeing as how Botox Cosmetic is the #1 cosmetic treatment in the world, so it seems fitting that men only partake in it's glorious benefits as well. Botox Cosmetic is popular because it works. Men tend to have very deep "11's" which are the deep creases in between the eyebrows (the glabellar). Botox can help men in corporate America look younger & stay competitive which is why many CEO's are taking to it. #2 Laser Hair Removal: Many men suffer from painful ingrown hairs in the beard, neck, or bikini area. Laser hair removal can resolve embarrassing red bumps caused by ingrown hairs. The laser destroy hair follicles and thin out the hair ridding the area of ingrown hairs permanently in at little as 2-4 treatments. #3 "Liquid Face-lifts" with dermal fillers: Dermal fillers can help men look younger within 20 minutes with no downtime that would show they have had anything done. Dermal fillers such as Juvederm, Radiesse and Belotero Balance replace volume lost by aging especially in the mid-face/cheek area. By replacing the volume the jowles are lifted and the man looks instantly younger with results lasting around 1 year. Let's face it-we've all had those rough nights that result in dark circles under our eyes the next morning, but for some people this is a constant issue that a "good night of sleep" just won't cure. In our Orlando Medical Spa-Winter Park Laser, dark under-eye circles & bags are a constant complaint. So here are our top treatments to help eliminate or reduce dark under-eye circles, wrinkles & bags. #1 Belotero Balance Dermal Filler injected into the tear-trough area Why? Belotero is a hyaluronic acid filler that is already hydrated-which means that we don't have to "under-fill" the tear trough area to see the result, it also allows you to go much higher in the dermal tissue. Belotero costs around $475-$525 per syringe for a 1 ML pre-filled syringe. We numb the area topically but here is also lidocaine mixed into every syringe for a comfortable procedure. The tear-trough area is sensitive to slight bruising and swelling may occur but overall there is little down-time. The results typically last around a year or 10-14 months on average. The result of Belotero in the tear-trough area can give clients a more youthful look, with less hollowness, dark circles & wrinkles in the eye area also making them look more rested. #2 EnerPeel for Eyes by Glytone-Series of 4 Chemical Peels just around the eyes & eye lid Why? This peel is especially designed for the eye area & combines Lactic acid (great for pigment issues) with TCA (tri-chloracetic acid) great for exfoliation and stimulating collagen. The results are a significant increase in skin firmness around eyes, Decrease in fine lines, wrinkles and coarse crow's feet around eyes, & a Decrease in dark circles.
