Why Laser Tattoo Removal is Becoming More Popular

While tattoos have been around for centuries, laser tattoo removal is only about 20 years old, before that strong, painful acids that often left scars without the best results were the main method of tattoo removal. Tattoo removal is still a new-enough niche that hard statistics are difficult to come by, but anecdotal evidence suggests it's growing fast. Winter park Laser decided to offer laser tattoo removal because there were only about 2 other medical spas in Orlando performing the treatment.
So why would tattoo removal start becoming more popular now? For starters many military and government agencies such as fire stations are now requiring that to work or join the military you can not have any tattoos showing. Also the need for removal has grown since tattoos have grown in popularity over the years. A 2006 Northwestern University survey estimated that almost a quarter of people between the ages of 18 and 50 have tattoos; the same year, the Food and Drug Administration placed the number of Americans with tattoos at around 45 million. And, economically speaking, tattoos and tattoo removal are complementary goods, like hot dogs and hot dog buns: As more and more people get tattoos, it follows that more and more people might want to get them removed. In fact, the Northwestern survey also found that about 17 percent of study participants were thinking about tattoo removal. What's more, the growth in tattoos appears to be especially big among younger people — which would indicate that the demand for tattoo removal hasn't even crested yet.

Also the laser technology to remove tattoos has great improved and is now strictly performed under physician supervision in medical spas or doctor's offices as opposed to tattoo parlors attempting to perform laser tattoo removal. The bottom line is that as long as there are tattoos, the rise in laser tattoo removal will continue.

Hair Removal For Men Makes them More Attractive?

Recent Surveys found that the #1 thing that can make men more attractive is hair removal, and that most women prefer the bareless beach body to hairy on men.
Over the past 8 years at Winter Park Laser we have found more and more men are having laser hair removal and the number one reason they site is that their girlfriend or wife wanted them to (or ingrown painful hairs).

Laser Hair Removal is a much more permanent, time saving and cost effective way to eliminate hair on men on the back, chest, beard, ears, bikini, arms or even the legs for some men than the old hair removal methods of electrolysis, waxing, or shaving.

Laser hair removal works by the pigment in the hair follicle absorbing the light, transferring it into heat and destroying the follicles fully developed in the Anagen Cycle. You will be down to shaving only once ever 2-4 weeks after 2-3 treatments, and will never shave again after about 7 treatments on average! Men are loving the results as are the women in their lives!

Winter Park Laser has been treating men with laser hair removal in Orlando for nearly 8 years.

How can laser hair removal treatments be most effective

The most frequently asked laser hair removal question asked is "Does it work"? at our medical spa in Orlando (Winter Park Laser). The answer is yes it does work but you have to be a good candidate-and unfortunately other medical spas have take the wrong candidates, weak settings or weak technology and given not so great results-therefore sometimes giving laser hair removal an unfair rapport. It has been and continues to be an amazing treatment for many people!

Many people want to embrace the idea of having unwanted hair removed once and for all, however laser hair removal costs can be very expensive to front in this poor economy. People want to know how effective it is for permanently removing nuisance hair on the legs, arms, bikini, face, chest, and back. Well, folks this is all dependent on many many factors such as the color of skin and hair being treated, what lasers are being used for the treatments, and the area that is being treated.

In the past temporary methods that have been available for hair removal such as painful waxing, plucking, and shaving left un-lasting results. Yes laser hair removal is an effective treatment to end the growth of the hair follicles in any place on your body. With minimal side effects, and impressive statistics of effectiveness. The cost of laser hair removal is actually significantly less over time than temporary hair removal solutions it also puts an end to ingrown hairs.

Laser Hair Removal is Most Effective When:

1.Good candidates: This type of hair removal tends to be most effective for hair removal when implemented on those people with dark hair that is darker than their skin tone (we treat all skin types). These are the clients who get the most for their money when paying in package rates. Most blonde, white or grey haired clients do not achieve the best results. Others may get fantastic results however they may also be required to attend a few more sessions in order to do so.

2.Good lasers are used: Laser hair removal technology changes all the time and is important that the technology is newer, has a built in cooling system and effective pulses. Palomar Medical is one of the leading makers of laser hair removal technology and was the first to patent it commercially.

3.The patient follows instructions: Before getting laser hair removal treatments the clinic will advise you to stop plucking, waxing, shaving. Avoid applying deodorants, perfumes, and lotions to the skin post treatment for 24 hours. They give you these directions for good reason as some of these actions can hinder the effectiveness of the laser treatments.
There are some cases where laser hair removal is more efficient in likely candidates, however with advances in laser technology the market has now tons of tactics to rid most hair types and skin types of unwanted hair although it may cost more or call for numerous extra sessions of treatments.

What is a Chemical Peel exactly

Chemical peels have been around since Cleopatra and egyptions used fermented milk as an exfoliant. They were the beginning of non-surgical cosmetic treatments and while they have improved, the basic principles remain the same and they are still a staple in medical spas and plastic surgeon offices today.
Chemical Peels use a precise chemical solution (usually naturally derived from milk, almonds, sugar cane, etc) to remove the damaged outer layers of the skin, revealing a bright, healthy, more vibrant complexion. Chemical peels can dramatically improve the appearance of fine lines, wrinkles, hyperpigmentation, skin tone and texture. In some cases peels can elimate precancerous lesions. Chemical Peels can benefit all complexions, even the most sensitive, and can be performed on any part of the body, especially the chest, back or buttocks areas.

While one treatment will make a difference, it typically takes 3-6 treatments and maintenance to see your desired result and you should stay out of the sun and wear sunscreen after treatments. Laser is Best Option to Remove Stretchmarks

Laser Stretch Mark Removal Facts

A stretch mark (Striae-either white or red) can appear when your skin is stretched normal through sudden weight changes or pregnancy. The glucocorticoid hormones responsible for the development of stretch marks affect the dermis by preventing the fibroblasts from forming collagen and elastin fibers, necessary to keep rapidly growing skin taut. This creates a lack of supportive material, as the skin is stretched and leads to dermal and epidermal tearing.

The marks can be unsightly and they are actually scars that appear on the top skin layer. The scars appear because of the fact that the tissue will grow rapidly and the skin does not manage to grow as fast. The result is basically a scar. Stretch marks are usually red or become silvery white over time. The good news is that we have many ways to get rid of them. One of the most popular methods is laser stretch mark removal.

Laser Treatment

Laser stretch mark removal is one of the really effective methods to eliminate stretch marks and scars. There is currently only one FDA approved laser that removes stretchmarks permanently which is the Fractional 1540 Laser by Palomar Medical which removes 50-90% of stretchmarks in 3-5 treatments on average. We can say that the laser is wavelenhths of light that create columns of coagulated tissue in the dermis in order to regenerate damaged skin. The scar tissue is disrupted, pushed out and replaced by new healthy tissue and cells a fraction at a time.. Scar damage is thus eliminated. The stretchmarks will fade over treatments.

These treatments may be performed by a Nurse Practitioner, PA or Physician. One procedure can last 15 to 60 minutes and the skin will usually be red or swollen 2-3 days after. The procedure is mainly painless and requires little downtime with fabulous results.

Laser stretch mark removal is actually one of the most recommended methods to get rid of those marks. Lotions do not work because they can't penetrate deep enough.

You have to limit sun exposure after the treatment. For more information go to www.palomarmedical.com or www.winterparklaser.com
