Beware of "Bargain Botox Deals" online or from friends

The cosmetic industry has changed and grown greatly over the past decade and with Botox Cosmetic becoming the #1 non-surgical cosmetic treatment in the US for the past 5 years it is no surprise that many people are now looking to try the treatment. Unfortunately due to the economy many are turning to "bargain basement deals" from on-line sites or "at home" parties from friends. While Botox Cosmetic is a cosmetic procedure it is still a medical procedures and should be held to the same standards as any other medical procedure would. First of all, never purchase Botox on-line and always make sure that the Botox Cosmetic you are getting comes from Allergan (the only maker of Botox cosmetic) there is a hologram on the bottle to look for and you can ask to watch the medical practitioner mix it in front of you.

Second of all you wouldn't purchase brain surgery at 50% off so why would you do it for a treatment that is injecting something in to your body? Botox Cosmetic is an amazing treatment but should only be performed by a certified and licensed medical professional in a licensed medical spa, or medical office who are not only licensed but insured, when you have it done at someones home there is no medical malpractice insurance covering that. Do your research and look for reviews when selecting a location for Botox Cosmetic not just for the "cheapest deal."

Why More Men are Getting Botox

Over the past 8 years in our Medical Spa (Winter Park Laser & Anti-Aging Center) in Orlando we have seen the number of men that walk through our door for cosmetic treatments increase every year. It started with laser hair removal-a lot of hairy backs or ingrown hairs for beards but has steadily increased in facial treatments, acne laser treatments, stretchmarks and the most recent cosmetic increase for men has been Cosmetic Fillers such as Juvederm, Radiesse, Perlane and of course the injectable Botox Cosmetic. Often times it is a wife, or girl friend that drags the man in but after he tries the treatment once he continues to come back all on his own and to refer other men! As societal norms rule "looks do matter" and many men especially single men are trying to make it count, below was a news story from NBC in south Florida about the increase in men and Botox Cosmetic. It is no surprise as Botox Cosmetic is the #1 non-surgical cosmetic treatment in the world than men are finally jumping on the band-wagon, after all they have wrinkles and insecurities just like women. It just took a few brave men to pave the way! For more information on Botox at our medical spa go to www.winterparklaser.com You can watch this video on the man getting Botox at http://www.ksn.com/content/news/health/story/More-men-getting-Botox-injections/qls6UF_bEkaVg-wzmJC7iQ.cspx

FORT LAUDERDALE, Florida (NBC News) – Barry Goren recently jumped back in the dating game, but he knows he has to step it up if he's going to meet the right girl.

So he decided to go to Dr. Shino Bay Aguilera to get Botox.Does he think it makes him less manly? No!Barry is not alone.

National statistics show some 300,000 men received tiny injections of Botox or some cosmetic treatments last year. And because of that, lots of "dudes" are not only opting for what's affectionately called "boy-tox" these days, but even more males are asking for something called: Sculptra.

There are differences though as to how men and women approach getting such services.
Dr. Aguilera says guys tend to be more clandestine, more covert.
The American male grooming market is worth $3.5 billion a year and a larger portion is now going to cosmetic procedures. A number that doctors say is sure to continue to surge.

The demand for Laser Tattoo Removal & Laser Hair Removal Increases

Winter Park Laser has been the leader in laser hair removal treatments in Central Florida for 8 years and has steadily seen the demand increase over the years. However, after a great demand we added Laser tattoo removal over a year ago and is has increasingly become more popular especially as few medical spas in the area are offering the treatment.

Laser hair removal is already the most popular noninvasive medical treatment in the United States for people under 34 and number 2 for people over 34 (second only to Botox) but lately, tattoo removal has also become very popular to the 16% of the population who have a tattoo. It is estimated that as much as 50% would like to have the tattoo removed which creates a tremendous demand for the service.

The demand for Laser tattoo removal stems partially from many government and military agencies requiring that tattoos not be in a visible area of the body for their employees. This includes air-force, army, police stations, fire departments, prisons and many more. Also, many once wild youths are now attorneys, doctors and other professions that do not look highly upon tattoos.

Winter Park Laser is only one of approximately 5 medical spas in Orlando to offer laser tattoo removal. Go to www.winterparklaser.com for more information.

Latisse is Botox for the Eyelashes

Latisse is Botox for eyelashes and has proven to enhance the length, thickness and shade of eyelashes and has already proved to be a massive hit in the US, could soon make mascara history.

Latisse - the 'Botox for eyelashes', which has been developed from Bimatoprost - a medication used to treat eye disorders including glaucoma, is also being used by many actresses, including 'Man Men' star Christina Hendricks, Claire Danes and Brooke Shields.

The solution, manufactured by American pharmaceutical giant Allergen - which also makes Botox, which is to be applied daily during the period of the treatment doubles the thiockness of the lashes as well as making them 18 per cent darker and 25 per cent longer.

Having applied the lotion for four months, women can even reduce the dose by half to maintain the lashes' thickness and length and if they stop the treatment altogether, the lash will revert to its thinner, shorter original condition. Latisse is proving to be even bigger than Botox in the next few years.
