How to Remove Stretchmarks Permanently & Why Creams Don't Work

Stretchmarks can be an unfortunate side-effect of pregnancy or growth spurts and mainly occur to women however sometimes in men as well. Stretchmarks can be due to genetics, stretch marks are small tears in the dermis that result when the fat or muscle beneath the skin is growing at a faster rate than the skin itself. As the tissue under the skin is “stretched out,” normal collagen production is interrupted, and stretch marks begin to surface. Many clients who have come to our medical spa (Winter Park Laser & Anti-Aging Center) have tried many different commercial creams to remove stretchmarks. This is why creams don't work-because the tissue tears are deep in the dermis and there is no cream that can penetrate deeply enough to repair the dermal tissue. Also, if any cream is not medical grade it can't even penetrate past their epidermis. Until 3 years ago there was really nothing you could do to remove stretchmarks, until Palomar Medical was the first laser company to get FDA approval on the 1540 Fractional laser to permanently remove stretchmarks. So please, don't waist your money on creams that don't work-laser is the only way to permanently remove stretchmarks. Here is how to permanently remove stretchmarks with Fractional Laser Skin Resurfacing. There are various brands of lasers to use-we use Palomars (now owned by Cynosure) which was the first to be FDA approved and cleared for laser stretchmark removal. Laser treatments are used for resurfacing the skin, to stimulate collagen production, remove damaged tissue, repair fibers within the skin and improve the look of white or red stretch marks on the skin after four or five treatments. . The Lux1540XD hand-piece delivers an array of high-precision micro-beams to create deep, narrow columns of coagulation in the epidermis and dermis. This triggers a restorative natural healing process that creates healthy new tissue, including the deposition of new collagen on any area of the body eliminating embarrassing white or red striae (stretch-marks). Treatments are relatively comfortable and topical numbing is a complimentary option for an incredibly comfortable procedure. One treatment every 3-4 weeks is required for optimal results and number of treatments varies depending on the age and severity of the scars. Only mild redness and swelling last 24-48 hours post-treatment. The results will give you 50-95% improvement in stretch-marks permanently.
